Every country leader has his/her good points and bad points...they are afterall human. I remember Jimmy Carter as President. Today, I just want to pay my respects to him as a person. R.I.P sir.
The Whitehouse and schools should be closed on this day of remember, for this great president.
I have mixed feelings about this national day of mourning with federal offices and most financial markets closed, etc. If we look at Jimmy Carters record as president, it was average at best - Im old enough to remember. The last day of mourning was when JFK was assassinated and weve had many presidents pass away since then with frankly a better record of accomplishments as president who were not honored as Carter is today. However, I will give support to this for ONE important reason - Carters exemplary record of integrity, honesty and humility in many years of post-presidency public service stand as a beacon of light as what is best in American values. It is important we remember and honor these values given the Administration coming online on the 20th.
Ridiculous. A national day of morning? Absolutely absurd. This is the United States. People in the past complained that Donald Trump acted like a king, and he did. And so does Joe Biden and you have no problems with it. I said many years ago California would be first. I haven’t changed my position. It will be. For many different reasons, including the cost of insurance, water, political dysfunction., Awakeness gone awry, hypocrisy. I am in my 60s and I have watched Hollywood award shows my entire life until the last couple years. These celebrities would pick up any social injustice cause and do their best method acting at every opportunity and now all of a sudden they have changed. They are silent about war crimes crimes against humanity. Is that fire close to Beverly Hills yet?
