The African National Congress (ANC) is set to hold a significant fundraising dinner in Cape Town as part of the events leading up to its January 8 statement, which celebrates the party's 113 years of existence. This year’s dinner comes at a critical time, as the ANC reflects on recent electoral challenges while striving to regain its footing in South African politics. With past celebrations previously held in Cape Town since 2015, this gathering underscores the party's efforts to rally support in a province where they have not been in power for years. In a recent interview, a member of the ANC’s National Executive Committee indicated that the party is using this year's anniversary to address crucial issues that have affected their electoral performance, such as economic challenges, governance, and public trust. The ANC acknowledges that their declining votes are a significant concern and aims to invigorate their base and restore confidence among the electorate through the upcoming January 8 statement. The fundraising dinner, pivotal for gathering financial support, operates with high table packages ranging from R200,000 to R400,000. This financial gathering is crucial as political parties in South Africa rely on donations, member fees, and levies to sustain their operations. The ANC's commitment to addressing the economic and social issues facing South Africa will be a central theme in the January 8 statement to regain public trust. As the evening progresses, attendees are expected to converge at the Cape Town International Convention Centre, with preliminary security checks already underway. The ANC leadership aims to ensure that all members and guests are present by the time the formal proceedings kick off. This fundraising initiative is not only a tradition but a critical component of the ANC's strategy to reconnect with voters and inspire a renewed sense of unity and purpose within the party.Hope no one went to the gala dinner as that would send a real message to the ANC who have squandered taxpayers money and not uplifted the poor. ANC is the worst thing that has happend to SA and the country will real for sometime. You dont come back when you dont provide services for the people but you hang onto power and sqander the money. Gee voters are stupid. SA would be streets ahead with addressing povity but for the ANC. Municipalities would be functioning and the people would be earning and developing. There would be much less crime and the sins of the past apartheid would be a mere flicker of existance but unfortunately the ANC were not competent and their leadership stole from the poor people who will now suffer the most except in Cape Town where the City is doing its utmost against all odds of political disruption to service that makes function look as if its not serving the poor. Some people really remain stupid and disruptive due to power, may they be brought to their knees and fail in their destruction. Viva Capetonians accross the board may we join together to keep out the scurge of the ANC and continue to develop and provide work for all to better their circumstances.
