As Australia approaches the 2025 election, several pressing issues dominate the political landscape. The cost of living crisis is leading discussions, with politicians scrambling to address rising energy costs and housing affordability. Voters are expected to hold the current government accountable for unmet promises, particularly Labor's failed commitment to reduce power bills by $275 a year.
Many residents feel betrayed by the Labor government due to a perceived lack of action on critical promises. Recent reports indicating that households could face $25,000 in additional energy costs over the next two decades have given rise to frustration among voters. With ongoing economic instability, the Coalition must work hard to regain voter confidence ahead of the upcoming polls.
The native title battle in Queensland is heightening tensions as Woppaburra people claim exclusive rights to Great Keppel Island. As the state government prepares for a legal fight, the implications for local tourism and land use could be considerable. The case has sparked public discourse on the balance between indigenous rights and community access, placing further pressure on the political landscape.
In 2025, Australia will face significant challenges during the election, particularly issues surrounding the cost of living, housing, and energy prices. With the Coalition grappling with trust issues due to past governmental failures, the focus remains on how they will address these mounting concerns. The Labor government made bold claims prior to their election, promising a reduction in power prices by $275 a year, a promise now seen as unfulfilled. New estimates reveal Australians may face a staggering $642 billion burden to meet renewable energy targets, translating to an increase of $25,000 in energy costs for households over the next 25 years. This stark reality has left many voters anxious and questioning their trust in the current administration. Housing affordability remains a pivotal issue as well. With rising interest rates and high property prices, Australians are increasingly struggling to secure homes. The political atmosphere leading up to the election will likely magnify these concerns, bringing economic issues to the forefront of public discourse. The Coalition’s ability to navigate these challenges while restoring voter trust will be critical in shaping the election results. Another pressing matter is the ongoing native title claim in Queensland regarding Great Keppel Island. The State Government's decision to fight back against the rich claims made by the Woppaburra people has sparked controversy among locals and will impact local tourism significantly. As the area looks to secure its economic future amid layered legal battles, residents express concern over the implications of these developments. Exclusions and claims could potentially reshape land use and the tourism industry, leading to broader discussions on the value of indigenous land rights versus community access.I, for one, CANNOT WAIT to VOTE LABOR, Greens & Teals OUT! The future of this country quite literally depends on it.
The Government should ban foreign ownership of Australian land and Australian houses. Countries in Asia can provide residential land at reasonable prices to their citizens while countries like Australia, Canada, Britian, USA cannot. No Foreign ownership of Australian land.
I was born in this country and have served in the Army. I have as much right and connection to land as anyone else born here. If the whopper (Ive deliberately spelt it wrong) want to challenge anything in the courts then they should pay for it themselves, not one cent to come from any level of government. Lets see how far that gets them. Id say nowhere because they live off government handouts which we are all sick of.
What we CAN be guaranteed of is, it’ll be the same circus, just different clowns. Look back at every change of government , we’ve never had a leader, we’ve never had a cabinet of remotely intelligent, educated people, who have had WORK EXPERIENCE,not one. This country plods along, nothing more.
I thought in Australia it was illegal to discriminate based on race? how does native title exist, its discriminative and racist.
as Molly Meldrum would say.......do your self a favour.........and vote Labor out!!!!!
Leading political experts all agree the Liberal and Labor coalition will win the next election. The illusion of choice keeps the tax cattle passive.
