Residents in Lenberg have experienced a holiday season like no other, marked by prolonged power outages that began on December 24. The lack of electricity has severely affected local businesses, many of which depend on constant power supply. Community members have reported significant losses during a time meant for celebration, turning what should have been joyous occasions into a bleak experience riddled with frustration.
In response to the continued electricity failures, residents of Lenberg took to the streets, blocking roads in protest. The demonstrations reflect growing anger and impatience, as people seek accountability and immediate action from local authorities. With Christmas and New Year's now in the past, the urgency for resolution is higher than ever, and residents are demanding to know how and when their situations will be addressed.
Local political figures have raised concerns over the lack of accountability from the municipality while trying to collaborate with contractors to resolve the outages. Communication breakdowns continue to hamper progress, with municipal representatives unavailable for comment. As frustration builds among the affected families, community leaders are calling for more transparency and quicker restoration of services.
In Lenberg, a small town that is facing significant challenges, residents have been without electricity for over two weeks due to severe outages. The situation has reached crisis levels, particularly after an explosion at a local electrical station left many households without power during the festive season. Following these outages, locals took to the streets, protesting the dire circumstances that have made daily life increasingly difficult. Reports indicate that infrastructure issues have compounded the problem, with a mini substation also severely damaged in a vehicle collision. The local community has been vocal about their frustrations regarding the loss of electricity, which has affected their ability to celebrate the recent Christmas and New Year's holidays. As the outages persist, many in the area are calling for immediate government intervention and a permanent solution to the ongoing electrical issues. Residents are concerned not just about the inconvenience, but about the financial impact that this situation is having on local businesses that rely on electricity for their operations. Local representatives, including a counselor from the Democratic Alliance (DA), have indicated that the outages began on December 24th and have affected a significant portion of both Lenberg and nearby Burgers Dorp. Despite repeated attempts to contact the municipality for status updates and solutions, efforts have been met with silence. The counselor expressed hope that a contractor would arrive soon to begin repairs but noted the lack of communication from municipal officials has been frustrating. It is not the first time. What about the water crisis? No water for weeks, even months. You will not get a hold of the Municipality because they do not even stay in Lichtenburg. Theres much more problems in Lichtenburg than what was reported on.
Corruption and thieving are the problem. Some people in Lichtenburg has been without water for MONTHS!!! It is absolutely unacceptable! Why dont you ask the so called MAYOR and his partners in crime!
