Tens of thousands of supporters turned out in downtown Seoul, expressing their unwavering support for President Yun Suk Yol. This massive gathering highlights the apprehension among Yun's supporters regarding his arrest, seen as a challenge to the nation's democracy and civil liberties.

In contrast, another group of protesters, consisting of trade unionists and youth activists, came together to voice their discontent against President Yun. Shocked by his declaration of martial law, they called for his resignation and legal action. Their presence signified a broader demand for accountability, emphasizing the need for transparency and adherence to democratic norms in South Korea's governance.

The two opposing protests depict the deepening political divide in South Korea as supporters and opponents of Yun clash over his leadership. With increasing tensions during the detention hearing, incidents of unrest have emerged, raising questions about the future of the political landscape. As the situation develops, the nation faces a critical moment that will determine the trajectory of its democracy.

In the heart of Seoul, tens of thousands of supporters of President Yun Suk Yol came together for a significant mass rally on the streets, reflecting the divisions in South Korea's political landscape. Many participants brandished signs calling for the annulment of Yun's impeachment, standing alongside South Korean flags and the American Stars and Stripes. The protesters voiced their fear that Yun's arrest represented a direct threat to democracy and fundamental freedoms in the country. One supporter stated, "I feel like the country’s laws have collapsed, and I came here hoping that maybe the law can be restored." As tensions mounted, President Yun arrived at Seoul’s Western District Court to attend a closed-door hearing concerning a prosecutor's request for an extension of his detention period. While Yun had previously refrained from speaking to investigators, he took the opportunity to voice his thoughts and concerns on this pivotal issue. Simultaneously, the streets were filled with a contrasting demographic of protesters, including trade unionists and younger activists. These individuals were shocked by Yun’s declaration of martial law and have demands for his removal from office, desiring justice and accountability for perceived overreach of power. One young protester shared, "I felt that just watching from home wouldn’t be enough, so I came out because I wanted to contribute even a little bit of strength." The two mass protests in downtown Seoul, notably large despite the biting cold, showcased starkly opposing viewpoints regarding President Yun's future. As the detention hearing continued into the night, tensions escalated further, with reports of 16 individuals detained as pro-Yun supporters attempted to breach police lines. This reflects a rapidly intensifying political crisis in South Korea, with deepening divides and increasing public unrest, raising concerns about the stability of the nation’s democratic principles. As reported by Al Jazeera, the atmosphere remains tense as the nation watches and awaits the unfolding developments in this critical situation.

Perhaps because youre a foreigner, you do not know much about the political situation in Korea, but an Senior Civil Servant Corruption Investigations Unit that does not have the right to investigate arrested and investigated the president. In addition, in principle, a warrant should be requested to the Central District Court, but perhaps because thet were worried that the warrant would be rejected, they bypassed the warrant to the Western District Court and wrote an official letter to the Presidential Security Service agreeing to cooperate with the presidents arrest process in a coercive manner. The reason why the president had no choice but to impose martial law is as follows. Currently, the opposition party holds the majority of the seats in the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea. They cut all the presidential special expenses and prosecution special expenses to prevent the president from carrying out political affairs, and impeached about 30 government ministers. He also opposed the espionage law and impeached prosecutors investigating criminal charges against opposition leaders. In addition, the president was exposed to allegations related to fraudulent elections from government officials, and decided that the current situation was a national emergency and imposed martial law. He is kept framing as a dictator, but thats false. Currently, there are a number of polls in which the presidents approval rating continues to rise. Even higher approval ratings than at the begining of their tenure. Please save the korea from CCP!

@MydogPotato1

As a Korean, this is truly shameful. I sincerely apologize on behalf of the people for waving the flag of a democratic country called the United States, causing a riot, and acting against democracy. The president said he declared martial law to fix the country, but in public speeches, he mocked it as if it were a joke. The fact that he tried to arrest members of the National Assembly and prevent them from voting and to continue martial law, and that he tried to arrest the representatives of the people and the National Assembly members who are the masters of democracy, is no different from rebelling against the people. He also used soldiers to destroy the offices of his opposing party. We shouldnt be fooled by him

@jjlee635

Wrong news, there are even more supporter were gathered in down town. Ten times more. And pls look into why the judge was done by the Western court , where the opposition party prefers. Correctly, the judge should be made in Centeral court. Thr Justice collapsed.
