I live in Seoul, South Korea and the government has issued a one week grieving period. Many New Year’s Eve celebrations and festivities the city planned have been cancelled to honor the victims and their bereaved families.
It was a project that the Democratic Party of Korea pushed forward recklessly to secure votes from the Jeolla region. While they never expected such a large-scale disaster, it was an airport that had long been problematic.
