As we move forward into the weekend, additional cold fronts are expected, particularly as we approach December. Stay alert for daily updates as these temperature shifts can catch residents off guard. The upcoming weather patterns in South Central Texas will continue to be marked by notable changes.
Good Sunday evening San Antonio! I'm meteorologist Mia Montgomery bringing you a weather authority update for this Thanksgiving week. As we buckle up for a temperature roller coaster in South Central Texas, we have several cold fronts making their way into the extended forecast. Starting with Monday, we can expect the day to begin warm and muggy, with morning temperatures in the unseasonably warm upper 50s and low 60s by 7:00 a.m. As we move through the day, a little bit of morning cloud cover might linger due to additional moisture in the air. As more sunshine takes over, high temperatures will rebound into the low 80s. However, be prepared as the first cold front will push through by the late afternoon and into the early evening hours. This front will cause temperatures to drop to the low 60s by 8 p.m. and into the 50s by late Monday night, along with a breezy North wind sustained at 10 to 15 miles per hour, with gusts reaching upward of 25 to even 30 mph. By Tuesday, the cooler weather sets in, with highs expected to be in the upper 60s—much closer to the average for this time of year. Warming back up into the low 80s quickly by Wednesday sets the stage for further temperature changes. A second cold front is anticipated to move in early Thanksgiving day, with temperatures falling into the upper 60s by Thursday afternoon. Make sure to bundle up for Black Friday shopping plans, as the temperatures will remain cooler. Looking ahead to next weekend, a third front may arrive as we transition into December. Overall, San Antonio's Thanksgiving forecast indicates highs in the upper 60s, along with lower humidity, making for a comfortable holiday, despite a few windy conditions with gusts potentially reaching 30 miles per hour. Importantly, no rain is expected in the next seven days, so if you are traveling, you can do so without concern for rain across much of Texas. Stay updated, stay safe, and have a great week!
