Early on New Year's Eve, a devastating event unfolded as a pickup truck rammed into a crowded Bourbon Street. The truck maneuvered around barriers designed to prevent such vehicular attacks, leading to the tragic loss of life and numerous injuries. This incident occurred around 3:15 AM, just as revelers filled the streets, creating a scene of chaos and horror.
In response to the attack, the FBI has launched an investigation, now treating this case as a potential act of terrorism. Early indications suggest a degree of planning from the suspect, sparking concerns about their motives and possible affiliations with extremist groups.
The former mayor of New Orleans voiced his grief and outrage following the attack, urging city officials to prioritize public safety amidst ongoing festivities. As New Orleans preps for major upcoming events, including the Sugar Bowl and Super Bowl, ensuring the safety of attendees becomes paramount. Authorities are reinforcing security measures while striving to keep the spirit of celebration alive in the city.
A horrific incident occurred early this morning on Bourbon Street in New Orleans, where a pickup truck plowed into a crowd during the celebrations. At approximately 3:15 AM local time, a white pickup truck careened from Canal Street onto Bourbon Street, bypassing barriers that were intended to prevent vehicle ramming attacks. This tragedy resulted in the deaths of at least ten individuals and left over thirty others injured, causing considerable chaos and panic. Following the attack, the driver exited the vehicle and opened fire on responding police officers, injuring two before being shot and killed. The FBI has since stepped in to investigate the scene, confirming the discovery of improvised explosive devices that are now undergoing testing to determine their potential threat. In the aftermath of the tragedy, law enforcement is conducting extensive searches throughout the French Quarter to identify any further risks and ensure public safety. Authorities have turned to technology such as drones and surveillance cameras to scan for any additional devices linked to the attack. As investigations proceed, the potential for this incident to be classified as a terrorist act raises concerns among officials regarding public safety, especially during a time when large crowds are expected for events like the Sugar Bowl and the upcoming Super Bowl. Mayor Marc Morial expressed his shock and sorrow at the incident, emphasizing the need for city officials to ensure safety while balancing ongoing festivities. He highlighted the challenges that city leaders face in navigating security protocols without deterring tourists and residents from enjoying New Orleans' vibrant celebrations. The FBI is treating the attack seriously, considering connections to ISIS and the suspect's potential recent entry into the country. With heightened security measures and emergency preparedness, authorities are determined to prevent further acts of violence in the wake of this tragic event. Why arent they reporting the truck crossed the southern border.....? 🤔 Thanks ~Jim Eagle
This is absolutely crazy how much money we spend in this country on security and military resources and we cannot provide security for the public at an event anymore
Why is he in the Western hemisphere? Out of what misplaced sense of generosity was this man allowed to live among us? When will the public finally decide there is literally no benefit to this “melting pot” garbage.

Its unbelievable how much New Orleans/ Bourbon street and French Quarter has changed. My mom went to a catholic nursing school in New Orleans in the 1940s and these places were all classy back then, filled w ww11 soldiers etc...she talked about them with great regards all her life. It looks like trash now. She would be so dismayed at all of this.
