In a shocking incident in Queens, New York, ten people were shot outside a nightclub during a New Year's party. The New York Police Department (NYPD) reported that up to four men opened fire into a crowd of partygoers, injuring six women and four men aged between 16 and 20. Fortunately, all of the victims are expected to survive, but this alarming incident has prompted a thorough investigation by law enforcement, which is currently ongoing. According to the NYPD, the shooting occurred just after 11:30 PM when a private event was taking place inside the venue with approximately 90 attendees. The gunfire caused panic as bullets flew indiscriminately towards the crowd, forcing many to seek shelter amid the chaos. Eyewitness accounts suggest that the attackers fled the scene in a gray Infiniti with out-of-state license plates following the barrage of gunfire, prompting law enforcement to intensify their search for suspects. Chief of Patrol Philip Rivera provided details during a press conference, revealing that the shooting began when four males walked towards the event, then opened fire on the gathered crowd. The NYPD has stated its commitment to addressing this violence, with Rivera emphasizing a zero-tolerance policy toward such senseless acts. Investigators are diligently reviewing the crime scene, marked with over 30 evidence markers, and are focused on gathering any information that might help identify the perpetrators. They have clarified that, at this stage, the incident does not appear to be related to terrorism but is being explored for potential gang involvement.
